An investigation conducted in August 2026 by officers of Police Station No. 6 and the Tirana prosecution, has uncovered a robbery scenario of a butcher's apartment in the capital, where the main perpetrator of this crime turned out to be his nephew, 26-year-old Leonardo Sinani.

In total, 27 million old lek and some jewelry such as a watch, bracelet and gold pendant with a financial value of almost 5 million lek were stolen.

Meanwhile, today the Tirana court, at the request of the prosecutor of the case Petrit Vukaj, set the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the 3 people arrested by the police, Leonardo Sinani, Mark Hila and Kleand Tomja. Antonio Budini from Lezha has also been declared wanted for this incident.

As journalist Elton Qyno learned, the injured party Durim Sinani, a "Butcher" by profession, had gone to a bar in the village of Ibë, Tirana, on the evening of August 14, 2026, to celebrate his wife's birthday.

Among the many people, family and friends he had invited, Sinani had also invited his brother's son, his nephew Leonardo Sinani, to this evening.

But in parallel with his presence at this family celebration, Leonardo Sinani, along with 3 other people, organized and coordinated a criminal scenario with the aim of robbing the house of his uncle, Durim Sinani.

In this criminal plan, Leonardo Sinani included his 3 friends, Kleand Tomja, Mark Hila and Antonio Budin, to whom he gave all the directions and movements they should make while he was at his uncle's parties.

Durim Sinani said that during the hour he was at the bar and they were celebrating, he saw on his phone that the house cameras were not working. He was a little worried, as a camera had left footage on his phone showing a person outside the house gate, but he thought it was nothing serious.

After finishing dinner around 01:00, they returned home and found that thieves had entered the house and stolen money and jewelry. There was more chaos on the second and third floors and the two interior doors had been forced open and the door locks had been broken.

He saw clutter throughout the house, items thrown on the ground and drawers pulled out of sight, empty jewelry boxes thrown on the floor.

He further adds that he went to the kitchen room on the third floor where he had placed family and business money, which he did not find in the box on top of a table.

"...also in the two bedrooms, his and his son's, they had stolen jewelry, and about 2 million lek from the son, in total they had stolen 27 million lek and gold jewelry worth 5 million lek. .." - Durim Sinani, the butcher, told the police.

He further explained that his house has security cameras on the outside, but when he went inside, he saw that the people who had entered the house had also stolen the cameras' DVR.

But he also has two card cameras inside the apartment, one on the second floor and the other on the third floor, where from these cameras, after opening them on his phone, he saw that 3 people had entered the apartment wearing hooded masks and gloves, who had searched the entire house and were even talking to each other while searching.

According to Durim Sinani's testimony, he learned from other family members that one of his nephews had left the party early, and his name was Leonard Sinani, his brother's son.

"...Leonard left at 9:00 PM, as far as I remember, they told him he never came back. I have no doubts about this nephew, but since you asked me not because I have doubts about this nephew, I'm telling you some details from the party where this nephew's departure was premature..." - Durim Sinani said.

Durimi's son was also questioned, who stated that in relation to the theft of his apartment, he saw suspicious behavior in his uncle's son, Leonard Sinani, who, as he was leaving the bar, asked him:  "...did you leave the house alone? Is there anyone at home...?"

He further states that when they were leaving for the bar where his mother's birthday was to be celebrated, he was in the car with Leonard and they hardly spoke at all the way, as he was busy texting.

He further states that when he was at the bar, Leonardi would talk on the phone and go outside, where at some points he would even drive away in a car, leaving in the distance and returning. He then states that at 10:45 PM Leonardi coldly left the bar.

After he left the bar, Leonardo Sinani, along with 3 other people, robbed his uncle's house.
