The arbitration decision of the World Bank that fines Albania 110 million euros in the Becchetti case has taken final shape.
Albania's efforts to challenge the fine and then revise it were rejected by a Washington-based panel of World Bank arbitration judges.
According to the decision, Albania must immediately start paying the fine to Francesco Becchetti, the controversial Italian businessman, who sued Albania for shutting down his television.
After the first court decision, Becchetti opened a battle in Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium to block the assets of the Albanian state.
But, after the Albanian side's request for a review of the fine, under the pretense that new evidence has emerged, the courts in the three countries rejected the businessman's requests.
With the final decision of the court, there is now no legal obstacle for the Italian businessman to seek its implementation.
