The Special Prosecutor's Office announced today the arrest of 4 people in North Macedonia, suspected of being associates of Nazif Ajroski, the Macedonian who in June 2021 was caught with 324 kilograms of cocaine in the Port of Durrës. In March of this year, the Special Court sentenced Ajroski to 8 years in prison for drug trafficking, as part of a structured criminal group.
SPAK says that after sending the case against Ajroski for trial, the investigations continued, with the aim of identifying other collaborators involved in this criminal activity.
"After sending the defendant Nazif Ajroski to trial, the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime continued the investigations in a separate criminal proceeding, to identify other collaborators involved in this criminal activity. In order to discover the persons involved in this criminal activity, a Joint Investigation Team was created between the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime and the Basic Public Prosecution for the Pursuit of Organized Crime and Corruption of the Republic of North Macedonia.
After a joint investigation of several months and the performance of many investigative actions, on 03.04.2023 the authorities of the Republic of North Macedonia arrested four citizens as suspects for the criminal offenses of international drug trafficking committed within the framework of a structured criminal group. The arrested are suspected of having cooperated with the defendant Nazif Ajroski in the attempt to traffic through the Port of Durrës the amount of 324 kg and 400 grams of cocaine, seized on 18.06.2021", reported SPAK .
Driver Ajroski was arrested at the Port of Durrës while driving a truck from North Macedonia officially loaded with iron, inside which dozens of packages of cocaine were found. They had different packaging and logos such as "Dior", "Chicago Bulls" or even "PSG".
For this reason, the investigators suspect that the Macedonian citizen would send the narcotic substance to Italy, where it would then be received by different customers.
