Murder of 52-year-old woman by boyfriend in Pogradec, Prosecution issues arrest
Kozeta Teço/ Korça/ Ilirjan Selmanin

The Korça Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant for Ilirjan Selmani , who was previously detained by police as the suspected perpetrator of the murder of 52-year-old Kozeta Teço .

During the interrogation, Selmani maintained a denial, refusing to admit responsibility for the crime, but the Korça police and prosecution have collected sufficient evidence that documents the entire dynamic from the moment the crime was committed until the perpetrator left the 52-year-old's apartment.

The investigation revealed that the perpetrator, like every other night, had spent Sunday evening at the home of the 52-year-old woman with whom he had been in a relationship for several years.

It is suspected that there was a momentary quarrel between the couple, which escalated into physical violence by Selman against the 52-year-old woman and ultimately ended with the murder of his partner and the burning of the apartment.

The perpetrator was known by the police as a drug user, due to which he often exhibited symptoms of depression.

On the other hand, the victim had also recently shown mental health problems.
