Convict Engjëll Kol Ucaj, born on February 20, 1946 in Krujë and a resident of Elbasan, was found hanging in his room. Ucaj, sentenced to 25 years in prison for the criminal offenses of "Murder in qualifying circumstances" and "Possessing weapons without a permit," according to articles 79/dh and 278/2 of the Criminal Code, was admitted to the Peqin Criminal Sentence Execution Institution on 20 June 2023.

After being found by the police officers, Ucaj was immediately transported to the Peqin hospital emergency room, where, after the efforts of the doctors, he was unable to get out.

This convict was responsible for the murder of his 27-year-old son and his pregnant wife.

On the part of IEVP Peqin, the relevant authorities have been notified to clarify the circumstances of the event.
