The Durrës Prosecutor's Office has suspended the investigation into the murder of Edmir Bregu, also known as Ilir Kuqi. He was executed at the door of his apartment, but because the prosecuting authority has no evidence, the file has been handed over to the police again for further investigation.

As more than 2 years have passed since the murder of Edmir Bregut, also known as Ilir Kuqi, the prosecution body is at the zero point of the investigation. For this reason, the prosecution of Durrës decided to suspend the investigation file number 141, which is related to the murder of the young man from the coastal city.

This suspension is related to the fact that so far the evidence collected does not lead to the discovery of the author of this execution.

Based on these circumstances, the file has been handed over to the police again to collect more evidence that may lead to the disclosure of the incident that occurred on January 24, 2021.

From the investigations so far, it appears that Edmir Bregu was followed by the perpetrators on the day of the event, until they found the opportunity to execute him.

But from the security cameras, due to the darkness and heavy rain, it is not clear when they opened fire on the 32-year-old.

The only evidence in the hands of the police is the fact that the perpetrators used a black vehicle. According to Edmir Bregut's profile, the police and the prosecution had set up 3 investigative tracks at that time.

The first had to do with the conflicts he might have had abroad, for which he may have changed identities, the second had to do with disrupting drug deals, and while the third track, according to the police, was the 32-year-old's association with people more criminal records in Durrës./OraNews
