Murder in Peqin prison / The court puts 11 officials behind bars, the director:

11 officials of the Peqin prison and the director were placed under "prison arrest" by the Court of Elbasan, after the shooting inside the prison premises.

The provisional director of the prison, Kamber Hoxha, was also left in prison, while only one guard was given the measure of "obligation to appear".

Sokol Mjacaj, sentenced to life imprisonment, had managed to secure a pistol with which he shot Arben Lleshi to death and wounded another prisoner.

It is suspected that the failure of security at the prison, the malfunctioning of scanners and some cameras, facilitated the introduction of the firearm.

While in court, the temporary director, Kamber Hoxha, stated that Peqin prison had been turned into a hotel and had serious security problems.
