14,127 Albanian citizens living outside the territory have so far declared their data in the special register of immigrants. According to the data of the General Directorate of Civil Status, it appears that these citizens used the e-Albania electronic platform and there were no technical problems.

According to ANA officials and the General Directorate of Civil Status, the data declaration process takes a maximum of 10 minutes for individuals who are not familiar with technology, while in other cases it can be completed for much less than that. The only document that the Albanian citizen is required to upload to the e-albania platform when filling in the data is a PDF containing the official document with his name, surname and address in the country where he lives. Referring to the provisions of the Electoral Code in force, these individuals who are registered in the special register of Albanian citizens living outside the territory of Albania can ask the Central Election Commission to enable the right to vote remotely. The Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ilirjan Celibashi stated during today's meeting of the Special Parliamentary Commission for Electoral Reform that the declaration of the address is necessary because through the declared address the CEC can further communicate with these citizens in order to send the ballot paper. if they prefer to participate in the elections.
