Police 'flash' action in Saranda, two young men with 10 Glock pistols

Two young people were arrested during a Saranda police operation in cooperation with Vlora, today in the Saranda-Skrfica roadside annex.
Young M.C., 24, and K. O., 23, both residents in Këlcyrë, one of them firefighters, fell into handcuffs.

Police seized 10 Glock pistols and 150 rounds. Police say the weapons could be used in serious criminal events.


Police announcement:

The immediate intervention of the Police, as a result of special investigation, prevents serious criminal events that could be carried out with firearms.

The police operation codenamed "Knock Out 7" is finalized, developed by the investigation structures in the Local Police Directorate of Vlora and the Saranda Police Commissioner.

During the operation, two citizens were handcuffed who were trafficking firearms with the purpose of selling them in the city of Saranda.

There were 10 Glock pistols, 150 guns and the vehicle they were transporting.

The firearms will be sent to the Scientific Police Institute for further examinations, to see if they have been used in previously occurring criminal events.

The Investigation Structures in Vlora and the Services of the Saranda Police Commissariat, following the work of ensuring the rule of law in the territory and for the crackdown on criminal activity in the field of the production, sale and trafficking of weapons, as well as for placing before criminal responsibility of the citizens who possess them, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Knock Out 7", In which the arrest of the citizens was made:

M.C., 24, and K. O., 23, both residents in Këlcyrë, Përmet.

After the localization and handcuff of these citizens on the road axis "Saranda-Skrficë", police services, during the search of the vehicle with the driver of the citizen M.C. and passenger citizen K.O. (who also works at the Fire Station Këlcyrë), seized 10 firearms type "Glock" pistols and 150 combat rounds.

Along with weapons and ammunition, the services seized a sum of 250 euros as well as the Nissan type vehicle.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that these citizens, in cooperation with each other, were transporting their weapons for the purpose of selling them to the city of Saranda.

In cooperation with the Prosecution, investigations are ongoing for the full documentation of this criminal activity and for the capture and placing other persons involved in the legal responsibility.

The proceduralious materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of first instance of the General Jurisdiction saranda for the criminal offenses "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Trafficking in arms and ammunition", committed in cooperation.
