A woman hanged herself in the Frutikultura area in Tirana, while the police handcuffed her husband.

According to the Tirana police, on 04.09.2022, in the Frutikultura area, it is suspected that Shahe Lika, 55 years old, hanged herself in the apartment.

After the event, the police, based on the suspicions created on the report made on 05.09.2022, by the family members of the 55-year-old woman, continued in-depth investigations, in order to clarify the circumstances of the event.

From the verifications carried out, it turned out that on 04.09.2022, around 15:00, in the premises of her apartment, Shahe Lika allegedly hanged herself, while her husband, citizen Shefqet Lika, did not report the incident to the police.

In the evening, the 56-year-old informed the victim's family members, to whom he affirmed that his wife died of natural causes and therefore had prepared all the burial procedures.

At the end of the investigative actions, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes at the Police Station No. 5 made the detention of Shefqet Lika, suspected of the criminal offenses "Causing suicide" and "Actions that prevent the discovery of the truth".

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions.
