A serious incident was recorded on Tuesday in the "13 Shtatori" neighborhood of the city of Berat, where a 47-year-old worker lost his life after being crushed by a rock massif.

The incident occurred while work was being carried out at a private entity in the Kalasa area.

Regarding this case, the police have announced that after conducting verifications, they have arrested the investor of the building, VS, 45, in flagrante delicto, while they have declared the administrator and technical director of the company that carried out the reconstruction wanted.

According to the investigation, the 47-year-old man lost his life as a result of violating occupational safety regulations. It also turns out that these 3 citizens attempted to prevent the discovery of the truth by hiding the identity of the citizens responsible for the works.

Police notification

Following the information provided yesterday, regarding citizen GS, who lost his life while working on the reconstruction of a building in the "13 Shtatori" neighborhood, where he was crushed by a massive stone that broke away from the castle area, we inform you that the Berat Police Commissariat carried out all procedural actions in the case.

At the end of their investigation, they arrested the investor of the building, citizen VS, 45 years old, in flagrante delicto, and declared the administrator and technical director of the construction company that carried out the reconstruction, namely citizen Ç. H., 53 years old, and citizen I. Ç., 41 years old, wanted.

From the investigations so far, it appears that citizen GS was working without being registered with the tax authorities.

Work continues to capture the 2 wanted citizens.
