New fire breaks out in Mallakastër, forest area in Rriban burns

A fire broke out this morning in the forest area of ​​Rribani, in the municipality of Mallakastër.

The flames have engulfed a forested area, while the intervention of fire services is facing difficulties due to the rugged terrain and the lack of access roads. Firefighting teams are on the scene and are working intensively to bring the flames under control and prevent them from spreading to other areas.

So far, there are no reports of homes or people at risk, while the firefighting operation continues.

A day earlier, a fire broke out in Mallakastër near the village of Hekal, near the "Qafës e Vidhit" (The Snake's Pass), burning about 10 hectares of olive groves and bushes. The flames also approached oil wells and homes, but were neutralized in time.
