The case of the murder of a 75-year-old woman in Salamis on October 31st has taken an unexpected turn, after authorities revealed that the perpetrator of the crime was not an unknown robber, but the victim's daughter-in-law.

According to information , the woman confessed to investigators that she killed her mother-in-law in order to steal the money and jewelry she kept in the house. Initially, the daughter-in-law had covered her face, broken a window and entered the apartment, taking advantage of the fact that the elderly woman's caregiver was not there at the time.

The fatal attack
The victim apparently saw the perpetrator as she entered, which led to a violent confrontation. The bride attacked the 75-year-old first with a glass bottle, hitting her in the head, and then stabbed her, causing multiple fatal wounds. Investigators were shocked by the brutality of the attack, with the victim suffering defensive wounds to her hands and a deep gash to her face.

The motive and the mistakes that the perpetrators discovered
Police sources say that the bride had financial debts and knew exactly where the money and jewelry were kept in her mother-in-law's house. She is also suspected of being aware of the angles that the external cameras did not cover and that the internal camera may have been deactivated.

The missing amount
In the house there were 8,000–10,000 euros in cash, some British pounds, and valuable jewelry, which were not found during the police search.

Investigations concluded
After questioning, authorities arrested the bride, who confessed to the brutal crime. The case is expected to be forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office for further proceedings.
