Two children died in a macabre accident in Durres, measures are being taken

Nikoll Radaçi, the driver of the vehicle that caused the fatal accident that left two children dead and another seriously injured, appeared in court today.  

The court decided to keep the perpetrator of the tragic accident in prison.

The serious accident occurred at noon on May 4 in neighborhood no. 15 of Durrës. 3 children were playing with a ball on the sidewalk when the 57-year-old, intoxicated, lost control of the vehicle and ran over the minors, leaving 2 of them dead.

2 of them, EM, 12 years old and KN, 10 years old, died, while the other 8-year-old child managed to survive, but with serious injuries. We recall that the driver had been reported to the police several times by residents of the area, and had also been fined by the Road Traffic Authority for violating safety rules.
The incident in question has brought reactions from public opinion, as well as major clashes between the opposition and the majority. Yesterday, the Assembly requested the strengthening of the Road Code.
