The brother of the apartment owner, problems with the law in Germany and Romania

New details have been revealed about the explosives explosion that occurred on the evening of September 12 in the center of Shkodra, in the courtyard of the apartment of citizen Mehdin Bushati.

According to sources, the suspected perpetrator approached alone on a motorbike adapted as a pizza delivery vehicle. He was wearing a diving suit and disguised as a pizza delivery man. After throwing the explosives in the yard, he sped away in an unknown direction.

There were no injuries from the explosion, but only material damage. At the time of the incident, Mehdin Bushati, a teacher by profession, was in the apartment with his wife. He stated that he has no knowledge of the motives for the incident.

Investigators suspect that the explosion may have been a threatening message to his brother, Gëzim Bushati, also known as Naser Bushati, who has been living in Germany for years and, according to sources, was last in Albania about two or three years ago.

Mehdin Bushati lives on the first floor of the building, while the second floor belongs to his brother. According to the same sources, Gëzim alias Naser Bushati B has previously been sentenced in Germany and Romania, once to five years in prison and another time to two years.

Due to the problems he is suspected of having abroad, police are investigating the possibility that the explosive device was thrown to convey a threatening message. It is also suspected that the person who carried out the attack may have been paid. The perpetrator has not yet been identified, while the investigation team is analyzing security camera footage to reconstruct his route.

The explosion occurred at around 9:30 PM and was heard loudly in the center of Shkodra, causing panic among residents and tourists. Just a few meters away, in the square in front of Shkodra Municipality, an activity with music and games for children and families was taking place.

The police, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continue investigations to identify and capture the perpetrator, as well as to fully elucidate the motives of the incident.
