The Special Court has sentenced the Macedonian Nazif Ajrofski, who was arrested in 2021 for the amount of 324 kg of cocaine seized in the Port of Durrës, a truck driver, to 12 years in prison.
Due to the shortened trial, Ajrofski will only serve 8 years in prison. The quantity of cocaine was seized at the port on June 18, hidden in the tank of the truck driven by Ajrofski.
The cocaine was divided into 300 packages, which were stamped with various logos of well-known fashion houses, football clubs or the image of the famous Brazilian Whiskey. The truck with Macedonian license plates is under police seizure.
As for the route followed, it was initially thought that it left Belgium to arrive in Serbia and then in North Macedonia, but official sources informed that the truck entered the Albanian territory through the border point of Qafë Thana, where from the control in the scanner it was clean. This has increased the suspicions of the police that the amount of drugs may have been filled in Albania, while the final destination was Naples, Italy.
