One person was arrested during the police operation on the orders of SPAK, today in Durres where former Socialist MP Jurgis Çyrbja was handcuffed.

Voxnews.al learns that he is Ahmet Masha, while another person, whose identity is unknown, has been sought.

Ahmet Masha is a person on whom there is a lot of light. He was convicted nearly 10 years ago for smuggling oil into the Port of Durres. Police seized three fishing boats, 11 vehicles, 3,000 litres of diesel and 110 crates of wine.

Also, Ahmet Masha's name was talked about for having ties to an Albanian-American, Ylli Didani, whom the US Drug Enforcement Administration, DEA, considered a major drug trafficker who lived a double life as a commoner.

While Didan has been talked about laundering drugs in Albania, Masha's name comes out in a statement from Didan, when he said he made two withdrawals worth $65,000 from Raiffeisen Bank, signing a declaration that he would buy a fishing boat worth $500,000 from an Albanian national named Ahmet Masha.

Jurgis Cyrbja is charged with the criminal offenses of "Altive corruption in elections", provided by Article 328 of the Criminal Code; "Support of the perpetrator", provided by Article 302/1/2 of the Criminal Code and "Trade of State Secret by Citizens" provided for by Article 295/1 of the Penal Code.
