Accused of abuse of office, the Appeal Court of Appeals declares the mayor of
Eduard Duro

The Appeal Court of Appeal has declared the mayor of Devoll, Eduard Duro , and 4 other officials innocent, leaving the decision of the Appeal Court in force.

Four other municipal officials, Astrit Seferkolli, Gazmend Haxhija and Gazmend Mali, as well as the former administrator of the Bilisht Center unit, Vojsava Bregu , were also declared innocent .

We recall that SPAK requested 1 year in prison for Eduard Duro, accusing him of the crime of 'Abuse of Duty', as there are suspicions that he licensed a fuel that was without a permit.

He was reported to the Special Prosecutor's Office by another private entity.

The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Dhimitër Lara (presiding), Tereza Merkaj (member) and Nertina Kosova (member), on 06.05.2025, announced the decision regarding the case registered with act no. 25, registration date 26.03.2025, on the appeal of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, against decision no. 14, date 10.02.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, which has decided:

In conclusion, the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime ruled:

– Enforcing decision no. 14, dated 10.02.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.
