Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the 70th meeting of the Commission for Europe of the World Tourism Organization, which is being held for the first time in Tirana. In his speech, Rama focused on the tourism of our country, saying that last year we welcomed 10 million tourists.
The head of the government says that this is a big challenge for our country, while emphasizing that there are still many things to solve. According to him, the most important thing is to preserve nature and heritage, to leave it to future generations. The Prime Minister emphasized that we must learn from the mistakes of developed countries.
" Today we have a completely different reality, 10 million tourists a year and with very high numbers during these first three months of the year. This is not only a success, but also a great challenge. There are many things to solve if we do not want Albania to lose its beauty, if we want Albania to be a destination where tourism is an added value and a place through which we create the space to celebrate humanity, working together from different countries, of any culture, history, language.
To let them know that they have come to Albania. We must preserve nature, we must build things with beautiful, amazing architecture, we must weave them together. To create the right space for people to get more of the businesses from their land, but on the other hand to be able to leave more for future generations. We must learn from your mistakes. We hope to learn from the mistakes you made and not make them again. We have made some mistakes, we live among Italian Greeks, being among them means being in the dolce vita, the carefree life, you also make mistakes.
On the one hand, you have understood the blessing that God has given you, how generous he has been in creating this country, but history has also been generous. We have some amazing places left to us by antiquity. Maybe it's better not to be Switzerland, but we should have the same way of understanding as the Swiss have, to understand that we don't spoil the country and its beauty and leave it to those generations ," said Rama.
