A shocking event took place in Manchester and even more shocking is the punishment the author received. Mark Whalley, 71, from Manchester, was jailed for six years and eight months after pleading guilty to the attempted rape of a 12-week-old baby. The 71-year-old was arrested in the lobby of the Manchester city center hotel where he allegedly planned to carry out the shameful and unthinkable act.

When he was arrested he claimed to the police that they were mistaken in claiming that he had gone to the hotel to meet his girlfriend. The British authorities (National Crime Agency) were informed about the 71-year-old Norwegian police, who discovered that the man had discussed his sexual "interest" in children under the age of 12 on the online platform ïckr.

Whaley allegedly described the extreme abuse he planned while also sharing indecent photos of children. It was on the same platform that the 71-year-old contacted someone who told him he had access to a child and to whom Haley described his sick appetites.

According to Sky News, the 71-year-old was already under investigation for distributing child pornography that was found on his devices in 2021.

"Mark Whaley is a dangerous criminal who clearly intended to rape a baby. We arrested him and now he will spend many years in prison for his crimes", said a representative of the National Crime Agency.
