The European Union in Albania has reacted after the serious event in Shkodër, where an unidentified person threw a quantity of explosives into the apartment of judge Tonin Sterkaj.

The EU Embassy in Albania strongly condemns the attack on the judge and states that the safety of judges and prosecutors in the country is essential for the independence of the judiciary.

"We strongly condemn the recent attack on a judge in Albania. The security of judges and prosecutors from threats is essential for the independence of the judiciary and in the fight against corruption and organized crime. The European Union expresses its full support for the judges and prosecutors of the judicial system in Albania", says the EU response.
