Greek police have cracked down on a criminal group involved in drug trafficking on the island of Mykonos and suspected of being led by a 37-year-old Albanian.
According to Greek media, the Albanian used a tourist transport company with vans to camouflage his criminal activity. The company's vehicles served not only for the movement of group members, but also for the distribution of drugs, mainly in the town of Mykonos and in areas with a high influx of tourists.
Five members of the organization were arrested during the operation, while investigations show that the criminal activity began in mid-April. Illegal profits from drug sales are estimated at around 700 thousand euros.
The checks were carried out in apartments and premises used by the criminal group in Mykonos, Piraeus and Perama, where police seized around 4.5 kilograms of cocaine, pink cocaine, cannabis, tablets with pharmaceutical substances, ketamine and hallucinogenic mushrooms.
