Dritan Rexhepi

The show "Në Shënjestër", by journalist Klodiana Lala, discloses Dritan Rexhepi's file on the murders in 1999, as well as his involvement in the world of drug trafficking.

In 1999, Rexhepi killed Arben Keqi and Durim Kasmi, both policemen.

According to the file, Dritan Rexhepi eliminated Kasmi on behalf of Shkëlqim Haka, after the victim had punched Haka.

The first part of the documentary:

Dritan Rexhepi is no longer elusive.

Born in Velçë, Vlora, in a family with 4 children, Rexhepi, whose birth name is Gramoz, can without fear be called one of the genius minds of the world of crime, and perhaps the most important Albanian in the world of drug trafficking, at least until now.

The man who, after El Chapo, was considered the most wanted fugitive of the drug cartels, who broke several times the highest security prisons in search of freedom, can no longer be considered a ghost for the international police, who was put later, since his last escape in 2022, from an Ecuadorian prison.

Liri, who died on the morning of November 8, 2023, just days after landing at a Turkish airport, was hiding in Beylikduzu, an Istanbul slum with low-rise buildings that also serves as a refuge for many foreign visitors. Just as Dritan Rexhepi himself was camouflaged this time, who carried a Colombian passport with the name Benjamin Omar Perez Garcia.

The first news about his arrest was given by the Minister of the Interior of Turkey, Ali Yerlikaya, who, through an announcement on his Facebook social network, accompanied by footage of the arrest operation of Dritan Rexhepi, did not hide it. not at all the enthusiasm and euphoria for this arrest.

Thus showing the importance that this character has in international drug trafficking, where he had become one of the most vicious bosses of the drug trafficking line from South America to Europe, as well as a major concern with his cartel 'Kompania Bello' and for a country like Turkey itself.

"The trafficker, Dritan Rexhepi, who was being pursued internationally, entered our country from the Istanbul airport with a Colombian passport, registered in the name of Benjamin Omar Perez Garcia," said Ali Yerlikaya's statement.

But how was Dritan Rexhepi arrested in Istanbul, in the generals Benjamin Omar Perez Garcia, who has also kept many other false identities, and what are the charges brought against him by Italy and Albania, who had long since announced him as an international wanted man?

According to the announcement published by the Turkish Ministry of Interior, the boss of the 'Bello Company', otherwise known as the international leader of drug transport from South America to Europe, was arrested as part of the 'Cartel' operation. Since his 2022 escape from a prison in Ecuador, where he cut off the security bracelet on one of his legs, his name has been listed in code red as one of the most wanted people by law enforcement agencies in several countries, including Albania.

As can be seen from these images provided by the Ministry of the Interior of Turkey itself, Dritan Rexhepi was arrested in the late evening of November 8, by numerous operational forces of the Directorate of Narcotics in Istanbul, specialized in the fight against drugs.

He was staying in this luxury residence in the Beylikduzu neighborhood, when the door of the villa where he was staying was broken down by many anti-drug agents, where Rexhepi did not resist. During the search, the police also found weapons and ammunition as well as valuables, which were taken into custody. Although in Turkey, Dritan Rexhepi will face the law on the charge of 'travel, falsification of travel documents, as well as illegal possession of weapons and ammunition', in Albania and Italy they have a different opinion about him.

Where he will face numerous cases in his charge, which range from the most serious charges of transporting drugs from South America to Europe, to those of 'murder', 'drug trafficking', 'kidnapping', where he was found guilty in these two countries, by the respective judicial bodies of the two countries. Accusations for which Turkey has expressed its willingness to hand over Rexhep to Italy and Albania, and as the Turkish Interior Minister said, that his country is ready to cleanse Turkey of poison traffickers, thus referring to hard druggies.

"We are determined to cleanse Turkey of national and international organized crime organizations and poison traffickers," declared Ali Yerkaliya.

According to the Turkish media, the operation to capture Dritan Rexhepi, considered one of the 10 most wanted people in the world by Interpol, was carried out by the Turkish security forces in cooperation with the Italian ones. The Directorate of the Intelligence Branch of the Istanbul Police as well as the Teams of the Directorate Against Narcotic Crimes in Istanbul participated in this operation.

Known as the master of cell escapes, the Turkish media also takes a long X-ray of Dritan Rexhepi's exploits, while his name has repeatedly occupied the pages of international media.

How did Rexhep enter the world of crime and what is his career in the underworld? The eldest son of Olimbia and Luan, Dritan Rexhepi had plans to continue his studies at the university in the field of law. At that time his family had moved from Velça to the city of Vlora and the young man worked in the family business. When Vlora was almost destroyed by the events of the terrible year 1997, Rexhepi started to get involved in various crimes.

The Prosecutor's Office of Vlora had started the investigations against him for attempted murder and in 2003 the first sentences were signed for him. Earlier, in 1999, Dritan Rexhepi would be charged for the murder of police officer Durim Kasmi, as well as Ramazan Baki, the latter an accidental victim, as he served in the bar where the crime took place.

"From the minutes of the inspection of the scene, dated October 6, 1999, where the citizen Durim Kasmi was killed and Ramazan Bakiu was injured, who died two days later in the hospital, among other things, 37 metal cartridges, a black synthetic bag, with two straps, an automatic comb, with the spring pulled out.

From the act of medical-legal expertise no. 33, dated October 6, 1999, that the victim Durim Kasmi died as a result of gunshot wounds", the investigation file states.

Forty days before this event, Kruja was shocked by another serious crime, i.e. the murder of the police officer, Arben Keqi, a friend of Durim Kasmi. The bad guy was shot dead on August 27, 1999, in front of his brother but also a colleague, a police officer, who left Kruja after the crimes, due to threats. In addition to the friendship between the two victims, the events were connected by another detail, the crime weapon.

"From the act of ballistics expertise, it appears that out of the 37 shells seized at the scene where citizen Durim Kasmi died and Ramazan Bakiu was injured, who also died two days later, 11 of them were fired by a firearm, to which the bolt of the gun was placed, which fired the 28 cartridges found and seized during the examination of the scene where the citizen Arben Keqi was killed on August 27, 1999," the investigation file states.

For the murder of Arben Keqi, the prosecutors investigated Sokol Halilaj, Dritan Rexhepi's close friend, but he would later be acquitted not only for this crime, but also for the execution of the other policeman Durim Kasmi.

But how did the prosecutors find the trail of the citizens of Vlonia, Halilaj and Rexhepi? Your help came from Shefqet Seferi, an accomplice in the murder of Durim Kasmi, who decided to confess for justice.

"The co-defendant Shefqet Seferi recognized the defendant Dritan (Gramoz) Rexhepaj through the photograph, as the citizen Gramoz from Vlora,

who killed, in cooperation with the co-defendant Sokol Halilaj, the citizen Durim Kasmi and seriously injured the citizen Ramazan Bakiu, who died later", the investigative file states.

Shefqet Seferi told the investigators that the plan to kill Durim Kasmi was made in the house of Shkëlqim Haka, one of the strongmen of the Nikla area.

"I have known citizen Durim Kasmi since 1996-1997, when he worked as a police officer in Kruja. As I recall, it was the fall of 1999, at a time about 5 weeks after the murder of Arben Keqi, Durim Kasmi and Ram Bakiu were killed. Four days before the murder of Durim, Shkëlqim Haka's father, Shaban Haka, came to my house in Zgërdhesh, where he told me to come with him, as Shkëlqim asked me that those friends from Vlora had come. Together with Shaban, I went to Shkëlqim's house in the village of Zeze in Nikla, where we met Shkëlqim, Sokol from Vlora and another boy from Vlora called Gramoz. Shkelqimi told me that the two boys from Vlora were going to kill the policeman Durim Kasmi", stated Shefqet Seferi.

The repentant explained that the motive for the murder was revenge, after the policeman had punched Shkëlqim Haka's cousin.

"I found out that a few days after the murder of Arben Keqi, Kamberi had taken Enver Haka's car and was driving around the city.

At one point, he had shot the tires of the car, in front of the police station. The police had intervened and caught him. At the time of the arrest, police officer Durim Kasmi punched him in the face. For this motive, Shining was revolted and decided to kill Patience. Discussing the Shining, I told him that 'it's not the chicken people who do this', while he told me: 'I hugged the chick I have with you, listen to what you say, I'll kill you there in Zgërdesh where you are'. So, he threatened me", says the investigation file.

In Shkëlqim's apartment, the method of murder of citizen Durim Kasmi was decided.

The show 'On Target' will focus on the testimony that speaks about the moment of the murder of Durim Kasmi and Ramazan Baki, the latter was not the target of the criminals, but the bullets did not spare him.

"I took the automatic weapons in my bag and went to my house in the village, and the next day in the dark I went to the meeting place, where Gramozi and Sokoli came. I gave them the machine guns to kill Durim Kasmi, about whom they had learned and the location. They told me that Durimi was in the club and within 15-20 minutes I heard machine gun fire and after that I saw two Vlonjats coming in my direction.

When we met, Sokol and Gramoz told me that 3-4 are dead together with Durim, then we returned to Shkëlqim Haka's house, where he, his mother, and father welcomed us. When we met, Gramozi told him that we killed Durimi and he replied: 'I found out, I talked to someone in Kruja'.

Later I learned that Durim Kasmi was killed in Ramazan Baki's bar, together with the latter who was serving at that time.

I met these people later, but I know that Shkëlqim Haka was killed after a month", stated Shefqet Seferi.

The prosecutors who jointly investigated the murders of two policemen also took the testimonies of Arben Keqi's family members. Hajdar Keqi, the brother of former policeman Arben Keqi, confessed that the family conducted private investigations and learned the names of the killers...

"Currently we are 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Two brothers are dead. Arbeni was killed on August 27, 1999 in front of the 'Skenderbeu' monument. It was in the afternoon around 19.30 and at that time he was a crime inspector at the Krujë Police Station. At that moment, I was at work, about 400-500 meters, in front of the Police Station of Krujë, as I was working in a shoe factory, at the former Artistic Krujë. I went downstairs and saw people, where they told me that there is a drunk shooting in the market. I went back to work, went out again and saw someone covered with a sheet. I found the other brother Ylli, who told me: 'They killed Arbeni'. 'Who killed him', I said. "A person with a machine gun," he told me.

The star was about 70 meters from the scene and saw the killer in front of him. He was impulsive, he pointed the gun at every person he saw and cursed with insulting and insulting words", stated Hajdar Keqi.

Ylli Keqi could not testify in court, as he died in the accident, but Hajdari, the other brother of the victim, said that the family did private investigations to find out the name of the killer.

Hajdar Keqi

"My brother was friends with Durim Kasmi. Durim's murder happened in the same place, but in an alley below where Arbeni was killed. It was dinner and I remember it very well, as we were preparing to organize Arben's fortieth the next day. I went that night, despite brother Ylli, and entered the club where the murder took place. We were told that there were two authors. Durim's father had seen the two murderers and had looked for a weapon, but he had not found it, and we started with private investigations. Ylli connected with SD, because he had a problem with the Haka family. My brother Ylli, who is no longer alive, but learned from SD that Arbeni was killed by Sokol Halilaj and Gramoz Rexhepi", Hajdar Keqi further stated.

He explained that his brother had confessed that Arbeni and Durim Kasmi had been killed by the same people.

First, I asked Ylli about Durim who killed him, and he told me: 'I don't care about the murder of Durim, but of our brother', but then he told me that it was the same Sokol, with a Gramoz Rexhepi. Hajdar Keqi stated.

Hajdar Keqi said that his brother had learned that even for Arbeni, the order was allegedly given by Shkëlqim Haka.

"Under the same circumstances, the same person, Shkelqim Haka, called them, we found out that Sokol was in prison, while we learned about Gramoz that he was from a village in Vlora and was friends with Sokol. A cousin of Arben Keqi told the judges that he learned the names of the killers from Ylli Keqi", stated Hajdar Keqi.

"Sokol Halilaj is the person who fired the gun in the murder of Arben, while Sulejmani did not tell us anything about Gramoz Rexhepin, if he participated in this murder, while Gramoz was in the second murder, that of Durim Kasmi . Sokoli, together with Gramoz, fired their weapons. The friendship between Dritan Rexhepi and Sokol Halilaj was also accepted by the latter's brother," the investigation file states.

"... My brother had a close friend Gramoz Pelivan Rexhepaj, originally from Velça and Vlora. When the brother was in Albania, in the years 1997-1999, he often met with Gramozi and in 2001, Gramozi went to Italy. For the last time, I met Gramoz, about a month and a half ago, on the road that leads to the village of Veltje.

I have no knowledge about these murders. Perhaps, it is about my brother, Sokol, who I emphasize looks a lot like me, even in the village they confused us", declared Shkëlqim Halilaj.

Suspicions about Shkëlqim Halilaj had fallen after Neki Kasmi, the father of Durim Kasmi, an eyewitness to his son's murder, when the police showed the photos of the suspects, pointed the finger at Sokol Halilaj's brother.

"From the minutes for the identification of the person, by means of the photograph, dated February 23, 2000, citizen Neki Kasmi, from the 9 photographs presented to him for identification, has stated that the person to whom the photograph belongs is the citizen Shkëlqim Halilaj, who is his brother the defendant Sokol Halilaj, is more similar in features to the person who shot and killed the citizen Arben Keqi and his son Durim Kasmi," the investigation file states.

While Rexhepi was continuing to face justice for the murders in Kruja, as well as making plans to execute a prosecutor who was obstructing him, after he had opened several investigations, in 2003 the first serious sentence was signed for him. In 2006, the police managed to handcuff the Vlonjat in the heart of Tirana, before he could carry out his plan, but a few hours later, he would escape from custody in the city of Durrës. After being interrogated by the Prosecutor of Serious Crimes, taking advantage of a moment of carelessness of the security police, while removing himself as an official, he was able to leave without a trace. This was only the beginning of the spectacular story of the man who later is said to have made these acrobatics almost commonplace.

Shortly after leaving Albania, he is said to have taken refuge in Italy, where he is thought to have learned new habits, where he became involved in the world of narcotics.

"This citizen was declared an international wanted by Interpol Rome, Italy, on September 29, 2011, after the Court of Appeal of Florence, Italy, with the decision of April 15, 2010, sentenced him to 16 years and 5 months of imprisonment (the remaining part of the sentence of 13 years, 8 months and 6 days of imprisonment), for the criminal offense 'Criminal group for the purpose of drug trafficking'", the investigation file states.

As it turns out, after the spectacular escape in Albania, Dritan Rexhepi receives another sentence from Italian justice, he was arrested, but he would soon make the next escape.

"Dritan Rexhepi was caught by the Italian police together with 5 Italian citizens and 2 Albanians during the transfer of drugs from a commercial ship to a fishing vessel, off the coast of the island of Sicily. In 2010, he escaped from the high-security prison in the city of Pavia in the Lombardy region of Italy together with two other Albanians," the investigative file states.

Thus, very soon Rexhepi would become a leading figure in the cocaine trade in the international arena, while leading the drug cartel called 'Kompania Bello'.

While his name entered the list of the most wanted criminals internationally, but the man who was used to climbing out of every possible cell, tried to do so in the Italian prison of Pavia where he was isolated awaiting his sentence and succeeded.

For the second time he ran away from the security forces, in front of their eyes, but Dritan Rexhepi did not escape from the isolation where he was in Italy, simply as an aspiration to enjoy the missing freedom. His exploits would soon be heard in Spain, where this time he attempted to rob a bank without success.

He would make his next escape from a prison in Belgium. In June 2014, he would be arrested this time in Ecuador while carrying a passport with the false name Lulzim Murataj, at the time of his arrest, trafficking 278 kg of cocaine.

"Dritan Rexhepi was arrested at the end of June, together with several other people during a police operation in Quito, Ecuador, but using a false identity," the investigative file states.

A year after the arrest, the native of Vlonia, who in the meantime had established strong ties with the cartel bosses there, but also strong ties with local politics, would be sentenced to 13 years in prison, in Albania meanwhile he was sentenced for using a forged passport.

"On August 8, 2014, the National Office of Interpol in Tirana informed that Interpol Quito/Ecuador, as part of an anti-drug operation 'Balance', in addition to the Ecuadorian citizens, also arrested the Albanian citizen Lulëzim Murataj, born on April 23, 1979. From the verifications made from the Department of Organized Crime in the TIMS system, it turns out that this citizen identified as Lulëzim (Gramoz) Rexhepi, alias Dionisopoulos, was arrested in Ecuador.

The defendant Dritan Rexhepi, whose father is Pelivan and whose mother is Olimbi, was born on April 10, 1980, born and lives in the village of Velçë in the Vlorë District, previously convicted. This defendant changed his name in 2004 from Gramoz to Dritan, also on March 20, 2004, he changed his father's name from Luan to Pelivan and is registered in Velçë village, Brataj municipality, Vlorë district," the file states. investigation.

The investigation revealed that Dritan Rexhepi had stolen the identity of a fellow villager who is in a prison in Great Britain.

"Citizen Lulëzim Murataj, whose identity the defendant Dritan Rexhepi has stolen and used, turns out to be a resident of the municipality of Kotë, born in the village of Velçë, who is currently in prison in the state of England. From the report-expertise, it results that the papillary prints in the practice of the application, to be provided with an identity card and a biometric passport in the name of the citizen Lulëzim Murataj, are the same as the papillary prints of the dactyloscopic card in the name of the defendant Gramoz (Dritan). Rexhepaj, born on April 10, 1980, which is administered in the file of the Scientific Police Sector in the Vlora District Police Directorate", it is further stated in the investigative file.

But while it was thought that this would be the end of the escape of the most wanted person in Europe and he would have tired of the inevitable escapes from the walls of the prisons where he often ended up, it seems that the measures were taken wrong, since in 2022 he disappeared without a trace.

Albanian Dritan Rexhepi, otherwise known as the king of cocaine, disappeared without a trace in January 2022 from Ecuador, where he had been released from prison. Dritan Rexhepi was last seen in Ecuador on January 15, 2022 in the local police district, but while he was in prison in Ecuador, he was able to create the 'Kompania Bello' cartel and traffic large quantities of drugs from South America to Europe.

Italy, as we will show in the second part of the show, drowned Italians with cocaine, while from prison it is accused of ordering the kidnapping and disappearance of Jan Prenga, the father of 3 children, who was found to be unrelated to drug trafficking.

Investigations revealed that Rexhepi was the sender of a large amount of drugs that was stolen in a port of Portsmouth in Great Britain, by a criminal group, to which Jan Prenga's brother, Astriti, was a member, where by order of Rexhepi, Jan was kidnapped in Kamzë He was held hostage and in exchange for the release of the hostage, the return of the drugs was demanded. The hostage's brother returned a large amount of drugs and paid a sum of money, but Jan never returned.

As can be seen from these images published in the show in Shënjestre, Jan Prenga was kept lifeless in the garage of the 'Golden Resort' complex for hours, and then the kidnappers disappeared his body, which still has not been found today.

The second part of the documentary

But how did 43-year-old Dritan Rexhepi, a boy from the village of Velçë in Vlora, turn from a law student in Albania to an internationally famous drug trafficker? What were his beginnings with crime and his juggling skills that also attracted the interest of the Sicilian mafia, who saw in this character the right skills to perform in a big world, such as that of narcos.

According to the Italian file provided by the show 'On target', Dritan Rexhepi, born in Albania on April 10, 1980, known as the head of the Albanian drug cartel known as 'Kompania Bello', had several aliases such as Dhimo; Ali; Julio Cesar, Jose or even Buggati, like the famous Italian car. Shortly after escaping from Italy he traveled to South America, where he is said to have met some of the most important drug players, who recognized in him the right man to move the right strings, to transport quantities of considerable amount of drugs from the ports of Ecuador towards those of Europe.

"Dritan Rexhepi, known by several aliases such as Dhimo, Ali, Julio Cesar, Jose, Bugati, Engjëll, is a promoter, organizer and leader of the Albanian organization operating in Italy, as well as a financier and wholesale agent of cocaine who then distributed throughout Europe.

He is also the founder of an Albanian drug-trafficking cartel, known by the brand 'Bello', of which he is the undisputed leader, being able to possess endless amounts of cocaine which he buys directly, in cooperation with his South American partners in the production and trafficking of narcotics present in Ecuador", the Italian investigation file states.

According to the Italian investigation file, while he was detained in Lacatunga prison in Ecuador, from where he later escaped, Dritan Rexhepi continued to collaborate with Cesar Emilio Montenegro Castillio, known as Don Monti, who was the leader of the Ecuadorian drug trafficking group, also linked to the Colombian drug cartel 'Norte del Valle'.

Meanwhile, Dritan Rexhepi's 'Kompania Bello' was composed of 30 Albanians, among them Denis Matosh, or else Eldi Dizdar, who is also an important figure in the international traffic of narcotics, who, like Dritan Rexhepi, is wanted by Italian justice to be extradited from the United Arab Emirates, where he has been living for some time.

"Dritan Rexhepi's closest collaborator is Castillo Montenegro Cesar Emilio, known as 'Don Monti', who also holds the apostolate 'Hasta el final donde el desierto es oceano' (To the end where the ocean is behind the desert). 'Don Monti' who is the leader, promoter and organizer, on the other hand, of the Ecuadorian drug trafficking group linked to the Colombian 'Cartel del Norte del Valle' (North Valley Cartel) and the Mexican 'Cartel de Sinaloa' (The Sinaloa Cartel). Together with the person hidden behind the pseudonym Antrax, named Diomar, they organize and promote cocaine exports to Europe, which are hidden on board ships. Container ships operating on the Guayaquil-Europe route, mainly to the ports of the Netherlands and Belgium, where in direct contact with Dritan Rexhepin, for the organization of imports to Europe according to well-thought-out rules and agreements, each shipment is carried out according to the '50/ 50'," the investigation file states.

So for every amount of shipment supplied to the Albanians, they add one more, to equalize the weight, cocaine, the distribution of which is then entrusted to organizations present in the Netherlands, such as the one directed by Dritan Rexhepi himself.

But let's take a look at some of Dritan Rexhepi's records in the trafficking of narcotics from South America to Europe and why he turned into a myth and also a headache for the Italian police but also in many other countries of the world. Europe. Countries which he had in the meantime flooded with the large quantities of drugs that he was introducing month after month into their seaports. Numerous episodes from which he begins to understand why he was quickly nicknamed the king of the Albanian drug cartel and which begin in 2014 and onwards, when he and his Albanian and South American associates were intercepted.

"In May 2016 and continuing, Dritan Rexhepi owned and managed the distribution in Europe of 500 kg of cocaine on behalf of the South American organizations run by Montenegro Castillo and Antrax, which were kept in a secret warehouse in the Netherlands guarded by Rexhep's people, who acted on his behalf. Amounts of drugs which started from 50 kg for each load and then increased progressively," the investigation file states.

According to the Italian investigative file, the shipments began to become more and more frequent at the beginning of 2017, when Dritani Rexhepi increased the volume of the amount of drugs that was passing from Ecuador to the sea ports entering Europe. Like this amount of 960 kg of cocaine that he has stamped on the packages, the badge of his company 'Bello', as is this episode documented in a port in the Netherlands,

"In the month of January 2017, Dritan Rexhepi is believed to have imported, via a ship operating the line from Ecuador to the Netherlands, a quantity of cocaine equal to approximately 973 kg. The drug was split into two separate lots, which were then destined to be sold on the European market, including Italy. Where one part belonged to the South American Cartel, run by Montenegro and Antraxi, and the rest over 400 kg belonged to the criminal group run by Rexhepi, and which was destined especially for Italy, this was also distinguished by the label on the 'Bello' and 'RS6' package blocks, which are the hallmark of Dritan Rexhepi's company. A load of drugs which, when it arrived in the Netherlands, was entrusted for storage and sale to Detjon Ilazaj and Elvis Jaupaj, who then had to send it to Italy to Klejdi Abazaj, appointed by their boss Dritan Rexhepi to activate a new network distribution of drugs in Italy", the investigation file states.

But this amount, despite being considered a successful test, seems to have not sufficiently satisfied the growing appetite of Dritan Rexhepi and his South American friends to add even more loads of cocaine.

Just two months later, his company raided another port, this time in Belgium, nearly doubling the amount of drugs that had to pass through customs, undetected and on to drug-hungry markets in Europe. .

"Dritan Rexhepi is also responsible for organizing the import of 1832.5 kg of cocaine, seized in the Belgian port of Antwerp, on March 15, 2017, packed in blocks marked with the 'Bello' brand. The shipment in question consisted of 1,600 packages and Rexhepi had organized three different criminal groups of traffickers to successfully finalize the operation," the Italian investigative file states further.

It was already clear that Dritan Rexhepi and his people had taken over the largest maritime line of narcotics trafficking from South America to Europe and had gained the trust of the drug cartels on this continent. But apparently, his intention was to carry out an all-out attack, in a short time, at many ports, perhaps to mislead the police in the respective countries. This is because just a short time after passing the drugs through the ports of Belgium and the Netherlands, this time he managed to pass the narcotics through a port in Malta.

"On March 16, 2017, in the port of Malta, 300 kg of cocaine were seized. This operation was organized by Dritan Rexhepi and his Ecuadorian partners, while again this time the blocks were marked 'Bello', which are specifically attributed to the so-called 'Kompania Bello', the criminal organization founded by Dritan Rexhepi.

Within the first 6 months of 2017, Dritan Rexhepi was confirmed as the pirate of Europe's ports, able not only to negotiate, but also to provide important evidence to his friends across the ocean, that he offered the right security to pass the drugs as well in ports considered more difficult. Where controls are so strict that even the most experienced drug traffickers would have a hard time escaping the watchful eyes, even of the German police.

"Dritan Rexhepi also organized on June 13, 2017, the import via a ship in the port of Bremen in Germany, of a load of 22.5 kg of cocaine which was sent by himself and Carvajal Loor, drugs which were withdrawn by Klejdi Abazaj. Likewise, on September 28, 2016, Dritan Rexhepi gave an advance of 200,000 euros to the RETI company in Amsterdam, for a supply of 200 kg of cocaine, which would go to the account of Montenegro and Diomar, a drug which was sold for 23,500 euro per kilogram", says the Italian investigation file.

For the Italian police, there were no longer any doubts that they were dealing with a drug wizard. They knew this from the time when Dritan Rexhepi lived and acted in their country and was connected to the Sicilian mafia, but they could not think that after escaping from a prison in Italy, he would overthrow South America their country with drugs, even corrupting public officials of seaports.

"He escaped from Italy, after a final sentence of 10 years in prison for international drug trafficking. The structure set up by Dritan Rexhepi is able to spread cocaine throughout Europe, with special attention in Italy, including branches throughout Europe and Albania, where he is also reported for committing very serious crimes, up to I would kill you.

His criminal structure also supplies other organizations operating in the Dutch territory, such as that of the brothers Marku, Memia and others," the Italian investigation file says.

Dritan Rexhepi has an extended group of collaborators, a mixed group between those who are called his close people and partners, whom he puts to work whenever he needs and whom they call 'The Boss', who turn out to be not only paying them regularly, but also making sure they are satisfied with the work they do, but also holding them accountable for anything that goes wrong. He also has close associates in Albania who take care of his businesses.

"Jorin Llambro, known as 'the blind man', who also has the nickname 'Monte Carlo', works as a mediator and spokesman for Dritan Rexhep in Albania, where on behalf of the 'boss' he maintains contacts and conducts agreements for the purpose of traffic management illegal narcotics. It is precisely this role that has established him as the director of the organization together with his supreme boss Dritan Rexhepi. Llambro performed this managerial role in the Netherlands as well, where he went to track payments and transfers of cocaine on behalf of the association," the Italian investigation file states.

He also manages the apparently legitimate business activities of Dritan Rexhepi and his family, but which derive from the reinvestment of illegal income. In Dritan Rexhepi's organization, the jobs seem to be best divided, those who deal with hiding the drug after it lands in the ports of Europe, but also the accountants who take care of the money earned from the illegal activity.

"Klejdi Abazaj, known as Mishi, is one of the main operational representatives of Dritan Rexhepi, on the orders of his boss, he formed a cocaine distribution network coming from Ecuador to Italy, with storage points in Turin, Modena and Rome ", it is further stated in the Italian investigation file.

'Meat' was the person who also managed deliveries, group organization and paid salaries. In 2017, he was arrested in Germany while receiving an amount of about 22 kg of cocaine, which Rexhepi had sent to the Port of Bremen. Similarly, Detjon Ilazaj, with the changed name 'Mario' in the Albanian civil status, residing in the Netherlands is the one who reports directly to his 'boss' Dritan Rexhepi, who entrusted him with the management of affairs. And that deals specifically with the cocaine sent from Ecuador to the Netherlands, as the drug lands in the ports of this country. He receives the incoming quantities of drugs and after securing them in safe places, takes care of the orders and arranges the deliveries for couriers bound for Italy.

From Ecuador, where he was said to be staying, and where he is thought to have created a new family life, having recently become a father, Dritan Rexhepi had also established connections with mafia clans in Italy, which he supplied with cocaine through another criminal group Albanian, also caught in the interception of the Italian police.

"The organization is financed by the large revenues obtained from drug trafficking, money which is then intended for the payments of cocaine shipments, for the salaries of collaborators, legal expenses in case of arrest, as well as the maintenance of family members. The clan also manages associates and warehouses of drugs, money and weapons, found in operations carried out by the Dutch police. In Italy, the Memia group represented the main, if not the only, channel of cocaine supply to the 'Madonnella' mafia clans of Bari, attributed to the 'Rafaschieri Di Cosimo' families," the Italian investigative file states.

As we pointed out earlier, one of Dritan Rexhepi's collaborators in the Netherlands was Denis Matoshi, or Eldi Dizdari, a character who became well-known in Albania after the massacre that took place on the evening of October 4, 2018 in a bar in Bllok. Dizdari who ensured for Rexhep and his Ecuadorian partner the exit of drugs to the Netherlands and Belgium.

"Denis Matoshi is the head of his organization that operates between the Netherlands, Belgium, South America and Albania. He has established stable commercial agreements with Dritan Rexhepi's group and that of Castillo Montenegro, providing them with the release of cocaine at ports of arrival in Europe, by ship between February and March 2016, from South America. The quantity in question is about 600 kg of cocaine for distribution in the European territory", the Italian investigation file states.

It must be said that the traffic of narcotics through Ecuador, Colombia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Italy, has been finalized thanks to a well-organized network of collaborators but also from a stable corrupt relationship with the public officials in charge of carrying out controls at the ports. of departure and at the customs of the ports of arrival of the drug. Dritan Rexhepi has also benefited from the logistic equipment with which he has been equipped in the ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam, thanks to the agreements reached between his partner Jorin Llambro and the international drug trafficker Denis Matoshi. Thanks to the services that these organizations have offered to each other, they have been able to create stable structures of a high level not only in the Netherlands, but also in Italy, where significant amounts of narcotics have been continuously seized.

But the most interesting part of this story is the interceptions of the Italian anti-mafia, which have put Dritan Rexhepin himself behind the wall. Interceptions where he appears sometimes as a big broker of drug trafficking from South America to Europe, and sometimes as a minority dealer who takes care of the smallest details, so that the drugs go to the right destination.

Intercepted conversation September 16, 2016

"Dritan Rexhepi with the pseudonym Julio Cesar speaks with his associate Mario Ilazaj, also named Detjon, who appears to have stored the cocaine sent to Europe by Dritan Rexhepi. Dritan Rexhepi: '...perhaps we will send 5 more pieces to Turin' (Reference 5 kg of cocaine).

Then it turned out that the transfer was made for an amount of 6 kg, where at the same time Klejdi Abazaj also participated in this operation, who apparently went from Rome to Turin to meet the courier to whom he had to pay the amount of 3,000 euros for the transport and to get the cocaine, but while Klejdi Abazaj was only 30 minutes away from Turin, Mario Ilazaj, who was currently in Amsterdam, could not connect with Dritan Rexhepin. This is because Ilazaj, who had taken care of sending the courier, was the only one who knew the address where the cocaine would be delivered in Turin.

Abazaj-Rexhepit: 'How will we do the work brother, I have two houses here, two cars, 4 people on my shoulders. Who are for cigarettes. I need 50 euros per day. Shall we give a tip?", says the investigative file regarding the wiretapping.

But the most important work that Dritan Rexhepi had to do and for which he had to gain the maximum trust of the drug cartels in South America, was to pass it to the ports of Europe.

Which seems to have had its own problems, as in this case in the port of Antwerp in Belgium, where he is caught apparently talking to one of his partners in Ecuador.

January 13, 2017, the conversation between Dritan Rexhepi (Julio Cesar) and the trafficker Diomar (Antrax).

"According to the previous agreements, the unloading of the cocaine should definitely be done at the port of Antwerp in Belgium, but apparently there were problems. Diomar sends Dritan Rexhepi a photo of a conversation he was having with a person with the nickname 'Aero', an associate of Antrax, responsible for identifying and inserting the group of narcotics inside the container.

In the conversation, 'Aero' wrote to Antrax that he was encountering difficulties in finding the container with the destination and the characteristics required by them: Aero: 'Look, we don't have many alternatives in dry. In the list that came out today we have about 5 of which one is in MSC but it's in yard 7 and you can't work there.'

Dritan Rexhepi reported to Antrax that he would have to ask his parents about any changes. But only a short time later, Antrax told him that it had received the 'green light' to put the drug inside a container loaded with propylene.

At 11:17 p.m., Dritan Rexhepi gave the order to load the cocaine. 'Tell him to do it!'" says the investigation file.

Only one day later, according to the intercepted conversations, Antrax confirmed to Dritan Rexhepin that the drug successfully crossed the port of Antwerp in Belgium and that it was already on its way to the port of Le Havre in France.

"At 12:23 the following day, Antrax confirmed for Dritan Rexhepin that the operation was successfully performed:

"Ya esta la obra ralizada"

'The job is already done'

It is understood that bags of cocaine were placed inside the container ready for departure to European ports.

Dritan Rexhepi learned the news with relief

'...Yes, it will be good mate...'", says the Italian investigation file.

Antrax himself communicated to Dritan Rexhepi that he already had at his disposal the photographs of the seal placed on the container and of the loading operations, which would be sent, obviously via coded phones, either to Rexhepi or to someone else involved in the illegal agreement. At this stage the narcotic had already been put inside the container, which was closed, sealed and stored in the dry port, ready to be loaded onto the car that was supposed to depart the next day, January 15, 2017. From the port's timetables, it was then ascertained how the vessel passed through the port of Antwerp in Belgium on 31 January 2017 and reached its final destination in the port of Le Havre in France on 2 February 2017.

Already calmed by all the embarrassment he went through with this load, which was not so easy to land at the port, Dritan Rexhepi shared this relief with one of his Albanian colleagues, to whom he tells that this was a very test important for him and others in front of the South Americans.

"On January 14, 2017, an important conversation was recorded between Dritan Rexhepi and Mario Ilazaj with the nickname Xhoni. Dritan Rexhepi regretted that his phone did not work on PGP and SKY, but he could not stop himself from communicating with Ilazaj, apparently waiting for confirmation of the shipment of narcotics, which was loaded with cocaine, as they had reach the goal defined according to the plans:

'…We are where we should be…..'.

But even John could not contain his joy at the success of the operation. At least for the phase managed by Dritan Rexhepi, making it clear that it was an important step in the relationship between the Albanian organization and that of the South Americans, in order to increase trust in these traffickers, with whom they will further it was possible to establish a long-term cooperative relationship:

Johnny: '…Dude, I don't care now even if we have a bad ending (if we get caught), I didn't want to make a bad impression...',” the Italian investigative file says.

This conversation hints that the operation for the part under the responsibility of Dritan Rexhepi had already been completed and so everyone was satisfied. If things went wrong later, there would obviously be responsibility, but that would belong to others, not them.

In another conversation, Antrax writes to Dritan Rexhepi:

'…Dude someone informed about the cargo and a son of a whore captain came. Download the boxes. But everything is fine. They didn't see anything and now it's gone…'

'…..You will see. Dude, if you like those people, you won't even have a place to put all your money. Believe it!…'.

But in such businesses what counts is money and in this case they can provide you with a life without much hassle and where there is money there is no friendship.

As soon as the news was learned that the ship loaded with drugs took its way without return, Dritan Rexhepi and his partner Antrax, start and share the pocket. What is due to one and what is due to the other in this business that has just been successfully closed.

"After the Albanians of Dritan Rexhepi received the news that everything had gone according to plan, the next day on January 16, 2017, when the ship had left, they already started discussing ways of paying for the cocaine. The most important conversation is the one between Dritan Rexhepi and Antrax, in which the facts become more and more clear.

Antrax writes to Julio Cesar: Give me the invoices, please

Julio Cesar: 150+185+354+164+351+146.5=1,350,500-11% = 1,201,400.

Ours should be 375 and I removed it…

The price for each block applied to Dritan Rexhepin, i.e. for each kg of cocaine, is $4,400.

Including the price of production, transportation to the port and all additional costs, including those necessary for the corruption of port service personnel.

Dritan Rexhepi must pay on his behalf for the supply of 371 kg of cocaine at a price of $4,400 per kg, for a total cost of $1,632,400. Of this amount it appears that $1,201,000 had already been paid, the amount resulting from the accumulation of a series of previous payments from which 11% is deducted, possibly related to the cost of transferring money or the Euro/Dollar exchange rate. .In addition, Rexhepi adds that he will also pay the amount of 349,000 dollars to the 'dogs' who had entrusted him with the sale in the Netherlands," the Italian investigation file states.

So it was clear, job done, account cleared, while this conversation also created for the investigative team a clear panorama of the wholesale and retail market of cocaine in Europe.

"From what was intercepted, we can assume that due to the large amount of cocaine, it was obvious that we were dealing with an excellent purchase price, which is also noted from the previous conversations between Rexhepi, Llambro and Denis Matoshi in March 2016. In the case of quantities below 500 kg, the initial price was $6,500, with a state guarantee, or $5,500 without such a guarantee," the Italian investigative file says.

Once the cocaine arrived at the port, it experienced a further increase in value, for a percentage that had to be paid to those who looked after the exit, ie. the recovery of the narcotic at the port of destination, which in this case was not indicated.

After arriving in Europe, the price applied to wholesalers is between 22,000 and 24,000 Euros per kilogram, so the profit in this case for the company 'Bello' run by Dritan Rexhepi, was colossal. Here, if you only count the benefits that he and his associates received in 2016 alone and the subsequent 2017, which in progress with the increased quantities of cocaine, captured the record figure of 80 million euros in 2017 alone.

"From the calculations, it appears that the profit from this traffic of narcotics is calculated at 50 kg x 52 weeks x 27,000 euros per kilogram. Where the total annual amount of profit is 70,200,000 euros per year," the Italian investigation file states.

But since the activity of the criminal organization was recorded from 2014 to 2017, the profit is calculated to be over 200 million euros, where only in terms of Dritan Rexhepi's organization, if we take the year 2016 and the flows of drug trafficking, the profit in a single year, 55 million euros are calculated. While for 2017, it is over 85 million euros. The big name he established as an important drug transporter also aroused the interest of other drug traffickers, who needed the services of Dritan Rexhepi, to pass drugs to Europe, such as this conversation with an Albanian who bore the nickname Max1.

"On February 1, 2017, when the ship had already arrived in Europe, Dritan Rexhepi was talking with an unidentified compatriot of his, who went by the pseudonym Max1, who appears to be interested in making an investment in view of a future import of cocaine from South America to Europe, the investigative file states.

In this conversation, Dritan Rexhepi confesses to his compatriot that his business has gone well

'…That job thank god it went well with that friend of mine thank god…'

Dritan Rexhepi explained to him that the load rule should be one ton, but the Albanian group, due to an error in the load, had received something less than half. Reiterating as usual, that the departure cargo is always composed of 50% of the narcotics loaded by the ordering customers and another similar amount, i.e. the other 50% from the South American narcotics, who thus exploit the journey and especially the outlet made available by the customers, in this case the Albanians.

The quantities sent by them are then entrusted to various organizations for subsequent distribution, and in some circumstances Dritan Rexhepi's group had this task. Dritan Rexhepi explained to Max1 that instead of 500 kilograms, the total amount of cocaine sent by the Albanians was 'only' 473 kg.

'…Because they mistakenly entered 27 less…'.

Dritan Rexhepi then spoke about an even bigger load: 'Let's see, next week we will do another better one.'

But in such a business, there are not only profits, but also losses, which are also accompanied by victims in the ranks of the criminal organization.

The unwritten rule, who makes a mistake, pays, such as the kidnapping and disappearance of Jan Prenga in Kamëz, on January 17, 2020. Footage also broadcast by the show 'On target', a criminal event which is said to have been ordered by Dritan Rexhepi, during that the latter was in prison in Ecuador and that it is related to the disappearance of a quantity of drugs in one of the ports of Great Britain, where Rexhepi's organization made Jan Prenga's brother responsible.

"The structure set up by Dritan Rexhepi is able to spread cocaine throughout Europe, with special attention in Italy, including branches throughout Europe and Albania, where he is also reported for committing very serious crimes, until the murder. His criminal structure also supplies other organizations operating in the Dutch territory, such as that of the brothers Marku, Memia and others," the Italian investigation file states.

But Dritan Rexhepi was not just a dealer in the world of narcotics, where, according to the Italian authorities, he ran his Albanian cartel even from inside prison cells in Ecuador. Where he gave orders not only to his collaborators on how to slip drugs under the noses of customs officers in the ports of Europe, but also to eliminate those who might have already turned into opponents or who had got their hands in his affairs.

"Even while he was detained in Ecuador, Dritan Rexhepi, thanks to a dense network of collaborators and corruption, used various communication systems from prison, thus organizing drug shipments, as well as maintaining contact with drug traffickers in South America, as well as giving instructions to his Albanian collaborators on how to distribute the narcotics in Italy and the Netherlands.

Likewise, he ordered the killing of exponents of rival organizations, as well as followed and took care of the investments of his company's illegal profits, in entrepreneurial activities activated in Albania", the Italian investigation file further states.

Now the only unsolved dilemma after his arrest is where Dritan Rexhepi will first serve his sentence, in Albania or Italy? And will he be able to serve justice by escaping from the cell as he has done in three similar cases.
