A young Albanian tragically lost his life this Monday morning in Catania, Italy. The victim is Kastriot Ismailaj, 27 years old. According to the Italian media, he was wounded by a gunshot on Friday. The bullet hit him in the face and he was rushed to the hospital.

The shooting happened after a fight inside an apartment on Santo Cantone Street, in the Nesima neighborhood. Along with the victim, who was known to be undocumented in Italy, a 43-year-old man, identified as Carmelo Leonardi, was injured. The latter, in addition to the bullet, also fell from the second floor of the building where the incident took place.

Meanwhile, this morning, a third person, who is suspected of being involved in this event, was handed over to the prosecutor's office. Giovanni Pasqualino Di Benedetto, 27 years old, is known to have previous criminal records and has been arrested on charges of attempted murder.

The circumstances of this whole event are currently unclear.

From what is known now, both the Albanian and the 43-year-old who was injured were together at the time of the incident. An argument is then allegedly started over monetary matters. The suspicions are that it is related to the well-known building in the area. Officially, this building has been uninhabited for 5 years and in the name of a woman who no longer lives.

At the scene, investigators found the crime weapon and the cartridge, while the third person (Giovanni Pasqualino Di Benedetto, 27 years old) had left on a motorcycle immediately after the double wounding.
