The Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime has returned for investigation to SPAK the file from Selim Çekajt, accused of trafficking 49 kg of cocaine.

Selim Çekaj is the father of Arbër Çekaj, the latter sentenced to 14 years in prison for trafficking 613 kg of cocaine caught in Durrës.

A few weeks ago, SPAK requested the suspension of the investigation for Selim Çekaj with the argument that there is no evidence, GJKKO has returned for investigation the file against the suspect Selim Çekaj.

Selim Çekaj was arrested in April 2021 and spent several months in prison, and then the measure against him was eased. The court accepted his request due to health problems and old age.

At that time, the container of Selim Çekaj's company was under surveillance by the authorities. 49 kg of cocaine was divided into 31 packages placed on the side posts of the banana container.
