Italian authorities have seized a yacht worth $530m in Trieste, which during the summer months became news and sold in Albania as a success of government policies to attract elite tourism.
In fact, russian oligarch Andrey Igorevich Melnishenko's yacht was parked in Saranda only to be filled with fuel, taking advantage of a government decision that sold it without excise.
The tool called "SY A" is among the largest in the world of its kind. In Italy he was seized at the port of Trieste after being caught by western sanctions on Russia due to the conflict in Ukraine.
This is what MP Erion Brache has ironic about.
"Mooos! How are we not selling tax-free oil this summer in Saranda to this Russian oligarch?! The Italians have seized the $530 ml yacht, which became our boast in the Gulf of Saranda year after year. Here's what the war did to us!" says Brache.
