The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, SPAK, has launched an investigation regarding the issue of salaries of judges and prosecutors.
As part of the investigations, it is learned that documents have been seized at the Ministry of Finance.
The judges filed a criminal complaint with SPAK regarding the non-execution of the salaries of judges and prosecutors for the month of August 2026.
The complaint requests that the prosecution investigate the circumstances and identify the person or persons who made, transmitted or implemented the decision that led to the non-payment of salaries. Among the persons reported is the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj.
The report emphasizes that the situation does not affect just one magistrate, but a significant number of judges and prosecutors throughout the country.
According to the complaint, the goal is for the prosecution to determine individual responsibility for the specific actions or inactions that led to the non-execution of salaries.
