The Special Court of Appeal of GJKKO has upheld the decision of the first instance by acquitting the member of the Independent Qualification Commission, (KPK) Etleda Çiftjan.

She was accused of the criminal offenses of "Forgery of documents" and "Refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of the assets of elected persons and public servants", for which SPAK had previously requested an 18-month prison sentence.

The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Miliana Muça (presiding), Igerta Hysi (member) and Daniela Shirka (member), today on 12.01.2023, completed the examination of the registered case with no. Act 73, dated 17.10.2022, on the appeal submitted by the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, against decision no. 48, dated 16.09.2022 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, which decided :

"The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Miliana Muça (presiding), Igerta Hysi (member) and Daniela Shirka (member), today on 12.01.2023, completed the examination of the case of registered with no. Act 73, dated 17.10.2022, on the appeal submitted by the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, against decision no. 48, dated 16.09.2022 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, which decided :

1. "The not guilty declaration of the defendant E.Ç, for committing the criminal offense "Forgery of documents" provided for by Article 186/1 of the Criminal Code, as the fact does not constitute a criminal offense.

2. The not guilty declaration of the defendant E.Ç, for committing the criminal offense "Refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of the assets of elected persons and public servants" provided by Article 257/a/2 of the Criminal Code , as the fact does not constitute a criminal offense", the official announcement states.

We remind you that the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, earlier requested an 18-month prison sentence for Etleda Çiften, on the charge of false declaration and concealment of assets, as well as falsification of documents.
