The Italian prosecutor's office issued 61 arrest warrants in a recent operation, of which only 21 have been executed so far. 

According to the police, the arrested are from Albania, Italy, Switzerland and Germany .

The arrested are accused of international drug trafficking and money laundering, while they had set up a scheme with fictitious invoices for actions they did not perform, thus cleaning the income derived from criminal activity. 

During the operation, the police seized 60 million euros of property and 360 kilograms of drugs. According to Italian media, the organized criminal group was based in Albania and transported drugs from South America to Europe.

Narcotics entered Italy via Spain and the Netherlands, via heavy vehicles and were distributed in 5 main centers in Italy. They were distributed in Brescia, Lombardy Palazzolo sull'Oglio, Varese and Pisa.

The traffickers then laundered the money in cooperation with another group from China that had "monetized" fake bills worth 375 million euros.

 In addition to the 21 arrests that have been made so far, the police have seized about 2 million euros in cash, 5 pistols and related ammunition, 8 cars and 360 kg of narcotics which, if released on the market, would bring a profit of 30 million euros.

The action is still ongoing, while numerous checks are being carried out in the apartments, using dogs and other contemporary instruments, to find the wanted persons, and to seize the money that flowed from the criminal activity.

Until now, there are no details about the identity of the persons who have been arrested, nor whether the operation to capture the members of the criminal group has been extended to Albania or not.
