The National Food Authority has blocked a large quantity of chicken meat imported from Brazil which resulted in the presence of " Salmonella Typhimurium ".

It is learned that the blocked load is 18.5 tons.

"Referring to the analysis at ISUV on 21.03.2025, for the presence of Salmonella Typhimurium in a sample of chicken product (frozen fillet), imported from Brazil, the AKU has intervened in a coordinated manner with the structures responsible for tracking, verifying and blocking the product in question, as well as for taking administrative and legal measures against the responsible entity", the AKU announces.

It is not yet known which company imported the shipment of chicken products.

The case was caught during inspection by the NFA and then sent for in-depth analysis.

National Food Authority Announcement:

In the context of transparency and public information, as well as in order to guarantee food safety and protect consumer health, the National Food Authority has undertaken a series of immediate and structured measures to address a situation identified a few days ago during the control processes of food products imported at the Port of Durrës.

Referring to the analysis at ISUV on 21.03.2025, for the presence of Salmonella Typhimurium in a sample of chicken product (frozen fillet), imported from Brazil, the AKU has intervened in a coordinated manner with the structures responsible for tracking, verifying and blocking the product in question, as well as for taking administrative and legal measures against the responsible entity.

The importing entity was inspected to monitor traceability, which was referred to the bodies of the Tirana Judicial District Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions, regarding the elements of the criminal offense of failure to comply with traceability criteria and providing incorrect information.

The National Food Authority assures the public that the situation is being continuously monitored and that every action has been taken in the interest of transparency, safety and protection of the health of citizens.

For any further developments, the NFA will continue to inform in an accurate and responsible manner.

The director of the AKU campaign to become an MP in Librazhd:

The Director of the National Food Authority, Olsi Komici, has been included in the SP list for MP in the Elbasan district, to be elected as a representative of the citizens of Librazhd in the next Legislature.

Komici is currently on the open list in the Elbasan district, and has also practiced law at various times.

As can be seen from the photos below, Komici has removed the "costume" of the director of the AKU and is seeking the votes of the citizens of Librazhd to be elected MP instead of Taulant Balla.

The Minister of Education has appointed  Manush Kullolli as the Director General of the National Agency for Higher Education and it has been published in the Official Gazette.
