The head of European Union diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, said from Skanderbeg Square in Tirana that Albania has made excellent progress with reforms and the Union is serious about its goal of expanding on the continent, mainly in the Balkans.

" I think that Albania is making excellent progress on reforms, we want reforms, the rule of law, what is necessary and so for us, and from that side, from Europe, the right steps need to be taken, there is a political moment that everyone wants the enlargement process to happen, this has not happened before ," Kallas told journalists in Tirana.

Asked about the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, the Union's chief diplomat said she expects normalization of relations between the two countries.

" We have just appointed a new special representative for dialogue and we expect the normalization of relations ," Kallas said.

She also announced that the EU has prepared a 17th package of sanctions against Russia, which it will announce and implement soon.

" We have the package, we are also thinking about the other package, we have the sanctions on Russia. In this regard, we must all be united, because we see that Russia does not want peace ," Kallas said.
