Summer Day symbolizes the beginning of a season full of colors, flowers, and joy. The celebration began on the evening of March 13th when sweets such as the indispensable ballokumja and traditional foods are prepared.
One of the symbols of this holiday is the summer wreath with white and red yarn.
Each city has planned a series of activities and celebrations to celebrate this day, and measures have been taken to limit vehicle traffic.
In Tirana, the traffic diversion has started at 12:00 on March 13 and will continue until the early hours of March 15. Festive activities will start in the early hours of today and will end late after midnight. Around 50 different activities are scheduled in the capital, from 09:00 in the morning until midnight.
Special spaces have been dedicated for all age groups, especially for children who have activities planned at the Artificial Lake and the Youth Park.
The movement restriction plan will also be followed in Elbasan, the center of the Summer Day celebrations.
Today, a very high number of visitors are expected in Elbasan, who are expected to come not only from Albanian-speaking regions, but also from European countries.
On the eve of Summer Day, Elbasan celebrated in the main square with a large concert, where hundreds of citizens came out to celebrate.
