The most recent report of the European Institute of Statistics ranks our country sixth in terms of road accidents. Experts say that the main factor is not respecting the signage.
Albania ranks sixth in Europe in terms of road accidents. EUROSTAT in the last publication ranks our country like this, while experts signal that the ranking may even exceed the third since the calculations also include vehicles that are not in use but are only owned by one citizen.
Accidents resulting in death in our country remain high, while Sulçe lists several factors.
Referring to INSTAT data in 2022, 164 people lost their lives in car accidents, or 59 people per 1 million inhabitants. This figure is higher than the European Union average of 46 victims per 1 million inhabitants, according to EUROSTAT.
Sulçe also has an appeal to the authorities that the education of respect for road signs should start in the schools.
