Eight people have been arrested in Romania and are accused of trafficking narcotics, such as cocaine and heroin.
According to the Romanian media, the suspects had trafficked 12 kilograms of heroin and cocaine. The police say that the leader of the drug trafficking group is an Albanian, whose identity has not been disclosed.
According to investigators, he had connections in several European countries, including Belgium and the Netherlands. Heroin and cocaine were brought into Romania from North Sea ports and then sold in Italy, Spain and Romania.
From the investigations of the Romanian authorities, it was found that the drugs were trafficked through vehicles that were bought by the members of the group and were not registered in their names. Then they changed ownership of the vehicles once every 2-3 months to lose track.
In many cases, the drivers of these vehicles received fines due to high speed, but the file shows that these fines were paid on time so as not to raise suspicions.
The vehicles with the hidden drugs were driven by collaborators of the criminal group, while the leaders of this network always traveled by airline. Cars that transported cocaine and heroin had modified places on the dashboard, ceiling, under the seats in the handbrake part where the packages of narcotics were hidden. According to the calculations of the Romanian investigators, 1 kg of drugs would be sold for more than 100 thousand Euros.
