Ylli Gurra

For generations, this mill has been used by the residents of the village of Dragostunje in Librazhdi to grind wheat.

It was built in 1805 by the Gurra family. But over the years, it went out of business.

Shortly before he passed away, Hoxha Faik Gurra bequeathed his son, Ylli Gurra, the former Mufti of Tirana, to take care of the mill.

He even left him money to restore it, so that the values were preserved. Already after 217 years, this mill was put into operation again.

Ylli Gurra says that he finally managed to fulfill his father's legacy.

"Her return is not the opening of a business, it is symbolic, because the past should not remain. At the time when Dragostunja was only 27 families. In honor of his father's legacy. After 217 years to give value to what is history."

Residents say that putting this mill into operation will make it possible to further preserve it and pass on the values of our heritage.

"A bequest, from the man who gave a lot to this village. We tried to do our best. This mill will not only serve to grind wheat, but also as a destination. 400 families, 2500 inhabitants are fed by this mill."

The mill is located at the entrance of the Shebenik Jabllanicë National Park, and it is expected that in a short time it will turn into a small tourist attraction.
