The Special Appeals Chamber has dismissed the prosecutor of Tirana, Eranda Laze.

The decision was taken by the trial panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, consisting of Ina Rama as chairman, Sokol Çomo as rapporteur, Albana Shtylla, Mimoza Tasi, Natasha Mulaj as a member.

"At the end of the trial, the trial panel, based on Article 66, paragraph 1, letter "b" of Law no. 84/2016, "On the transitional re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania", unanimously decided:

The amendment of the decision no. 811, dated 08.11.2024 of the Independent Qualification Commission and the dismissal from office of the subject of re-evaluation, Mrs. Eranda Laze. This decision is final and has immediate effect. It was announced today, on 29.07.2025, in Tirana", the announcement states.

For a parcel of land donated to her husband, the KPA panel assesses that Laze did not convincingly explain the husband's relationship with the donors.

Trips with persons suspected of being involved in criminal activities were also found to be insufficient for the measure, although it was found that they indicate negligence.

Laze failed to prove the legality of the sources for two residential apartments in Tirana, purchased for the value of 81,284 Euros and of a vehicle. The minority reasoned that the subject's claims were not supported by periodic statements nor by the facts resulting from the administrative investigation.

Eranda Laze is the sister of socialist MP Ermonela Felaj.
