At the request of the Albanian authorities, a contingent of the Kosovo Security Force, specialized in urban search and rescue, has been deployed to the Klos Municipality, in the area called "Qafa e Burrelit", to participate in the rescue operation following a massive landslide.
The media release states that the incident involved an employee who was working at the chrome processing factory.
"Search and rescue teams, in cooperation with Albanian authorities, have launched the operation by engaging personnel, specialized equipment and K9 teams, with the aim of carrying out a successful intervention," the announcement states.
The collapse of inert materials took down 29-year-old Ardit Beshiri while he was working with a crane to organize chrome ore, which was being processed at the enrichment plant in Qafë Burrel, which was managed by a Chinese company. The incident occurred last Saturday.
Meanwhile, searches have been underway for three days to find the 29-year-old's body, but so far without results, as search equipment is unable to locate the site due to the large mass of the mineral.
