The conversations intercepted by the Italian and Albanian authorities against two call centers that have defrauded more than 1,000 citizens by taking sums of money with the promise that their investments would multiply, have been clarified.

Conversation 1

Victim (crying):... I have already invested 31,000 euros! I have no money left! I risked everything I had. I'm thinking of committing suicide.

Scammer : You have to pay a commission for bank transfers of €4,500!

Victim : But I have already paid the last 4 thousand euros for the transfer fees!

Scammer : We don't care if it's your last money, it's just another tax you have to pay to the Bank of England. Talk to you later.

In another conversation, the fraudsters urge the citizen to get the bank transfer code and hand it over, but the injured citizen tells them that he was isolated at home with COVID.

Scammer : The ECB is asking you to provide your bank account authorization code, you must provide this code or you will not get your money back.

Victim (in COVID quarantine): Forget it, I'll never get my money back.

Scammer: You still have to pay for my work. Pay me one thousand euros. If you gave me the four-digit authorization code that the ECB is asking for, they would credit your account within an hour.

Victim : I can't move from the house.

Scammer : There is no rush, because there is time until the middle of the month. Go to the post office and get the code.

The following conversation shows how scammers asked citizens to pay initial amounts as an investment with the promise that their money would grow.

When the citizens did not receive the promised amount and informed the suspects that they would file a report, the latter closed the communication.

Fraudster : Pay now 510 you have to pay 0 euros and you will receive the capital of 51000 euros.

Victim (Suspicious): Send me an email with company details.

Cheater : Later…. what are your goals?

Victim : I want the invested capital returned, otherwise I will file a complaint.

Cheater : Go ahead and do it….

Victim : Can you send me the company documentation?

Fraudster (raising his voice): You have to pay 5100 euros in taxes to get a refund of 51,000.00 euros, clear?

Victim : Tell me better...

The scammer hangs up

Another conversation shows the case when call-center employees involved in fraud called citizens, presenting themselves as bank employees who would transfer large sums to their accounts.

Fraudster : Hello, I am an operator of the European Central Bank, I am calling you about a capital of 48 thousand euros blocked in your name for months.

Victim : I only invested 250 euros, maybe it's not me, you're the wrong person.

Fraudster : The investment company has continued to invest its money and therefore has a capital in its name of 48 thousand euros. I will email you the Revenue Agency legal document. I will call you again in the evening.
