After a week, the lifeless body of Engjëll Kanani was found, who was suspected of having fallen into the waters of the Vjosa River while fishing.

The body of the 63-year-old was found in the lands of the village of Kafaraj, where it is suspected that he suffered a heart attack.

He disappeared while out fishing with a friend on the Vjosa River, near the village of Kashisht.

The last call from his cell phone was about 24 hours after he disappeared, but no one answered. His family and a friend, a 64-year-old man from Berat, have called him repeatedly, but without success.
