The mother of Leo Sadiku, the 12-year-old who passed away at the QSUT on January 8, in an interview with News24, accused the doctors who treated her son of negligence, attributing to this the consequences that led to her son's death.
In a very difficult emotional state, Roveta Sadiku says that they sent their son to Korça Hospital for the first time on December 28, where after receiving treatment, the doctors sent him home.
On December 29, after the boy's condition did not improve, they went back to the hospital, where after several visits, the boy was admitted.
According to the mother, Leo had constant abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting.
Roveta denies the information that Korça Hospital provided, saying that they had discharged the boy from
the hospital on December 31, accusing the doctors of inadequate treatment and for this, she seeks justice.
Doctors, according to Leo's mother, had reassured the family by saying that the disease would run its course, letting him continue with abdominal pain, fever, cough, and diarrhea from January 1 to 6, which were treated as normal.
On January 7, at 4:30 in the morning, the boy's condition worsened, and the family took him to Korça Hospital. After that, they left for Tirana, to the QSUT.
According to the mother, for 7 hours in the endocrinology ward, the boy did not receive any special treatment, except for serums.
Regarding the statement of the QSUT, which says that Leo Sadiku received all the necessary services, Roveta raises a question: "Did they do an echocardiogram on my son, one of the examinations necessary for diagnosing acute myocarditis?"
She also points out that the police and prosecution have done nothing so far to solve her son's death, demanding that such cases be investigated and given the direction they deserve.
