Today, the first transfers of immigrants from Italy to the Gjadri center in Albania, converted by decree of the Italian government into a CPR (Detention Center for Repatriation), are expected.

For the fourth time, the Italian government is attempting to transfer migrants to the other side of the Adriatic.

This time, however, there should be no particular surprises thanks to the decree of last March 28 that allows the transfer not only of asylum seekers intercepted at sea, but also of irregular immigrants, to whom the police commissioner has delivered the deportation decree and a judge has confirmed their stay in a CPR, just like the Albanian one.

At the facility, everything seems ready, even if the time of transfer and the nationality of the 40 arriving migrants are not yet clear.

"We find a great ambiguity," said Francesco Ferri, an ActionAid activist and member of the roundtable on Asylum and Immigration who visited the center, ANSA writes.
