For 35 years in the justice system, the KPA dismisses the Tirana judge
Regina Merlika

The Special Appeals Chamber today unanimously decided to uphold the dismissal of the judge of the Tirana Judicial District Court, Rexhina Merlika, who was dismissed by the Independent Qualification Commission, the first instance of Vetting, on March 13, 2023.

The KPC had found negative balances in the creation of assets, which had resulted from the failure to verify the legal source of some loans and part of the donations from the brother, which had not been considered in the financial analysis.

In the other two criteria, that of image and asset assessment, no problems were found for the Tirana judge.

Rexhina Merlika began her career in the justice system in 1989 as a prosecutor and was appointed President of the Kruja Court in 1993. From 2013 until her dismissal, she served in the Tirana Judicial District Court.
