Kidnapped 6-year-old girl in Majorca and escaped, 43-year-old Spaniard arrested

A 43-year-old Spanish citizen has been arrested in Kosovo, after allegedly kidnapping his 6-year-old daughter in Majorca and fleeing Spain.

According to Spanish media, the man took the minor from the island of Mallorca and fled the country, initially hiding her in the trunk of his car to avoid detection. After leaving Spain, authorities lost track of him.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had closed bank accounts, deleted social media profiles, and changed his physical appearance to make identification more difficult.

Thanks to cooperation between authorities from several European countries and the Kosovo Police, it was confirmed that the father and daughter were in Kosovo.

On June 24, Kosovo Police arrested the suspect and also found the 6-year-old girl, who, according to authorities, was in good health.

After the operation, the child was entrusted to the institutions responsible for the protection of minors, while the Spanish citizen was taken into custody pending court proceedings and a decision on possible extradition.
