Normal traffic on the Elbasan-Librazhd-Përrenjas axis lasted only a few hours, as heavy traffic returned this afternoon.

Due to frost and many vehicles on the road, thousands of passengers returning from Përrenjas or Librazhd towards Elbasan have been stranded.

The situation deteriorated significantly in the most problematic segments of this axis, known for the frequent presence of frost, such as "Murrashit Curves", "Dragostunja Curves" and "Pishkash Curves", where the lack of timely intervention caused traffic to be almost completely paralyzed.

Yesterday, vehicle traffic reached dozens of kilometers from Fushë Labinot in Elbasan to the Bushtricës Bridge in the municipality of Përrenjas, creating an unprecedented situation for this national axis.

The lack of preventive measures and the delay in response became key factors that led to the massive traffic jam.

The police continue to recommend caution and the use of winter tires in those segments where there is frost.
