Four bullets were fired at Haxhi Collak, the Albanian who was killed by the Italian police. The event took place on the afternoon of July 14, 2023 in Padua, Italy.
"I heard them shouting: Shoot, shoot," said a resident of the area.
Around 14:00 on July 14, Haxhi Collaku, 55 years old, was stopped with his van under the house of his ex-wife with whom he had a history of harassment and violence.
A few years ago, even the 55-year-old was ordered to leave the marital home.
While yesterday, he had gone to the apartment again even though he had an order that he should not approach him. The 12-year-old daughter of the couple called the police about her father's presence below the apartment, so a patrol went to help. At the first moment when the carabinieri made money, they thought he would cooperate.
Once a mathematics teacher in Albania, Haxhi Collaku had been living in Italy for 20 years, but the marriage had not worked out and his wife had denounced him several times for violence, reports the Italian media.
After the carabinieri asked him to leave, he went to his car.
Suddenly, he starts the car and hits the policeman who was in front of him and was checking the documents. He then comes out and tries to stab her.
In this comment, the policeman fires a pistol. Two bullets hit Collak in the leg and two in the chest. Both are sent to the hospital, but while the Albanian died in less than an hour, the policeman who was hit by the car is under the care of doctors after suffering fractures.
