A serious incident occurred today in our country, where a girl of 8 years old from Slovakia died.

The Slovenian family's holiday in our country turned into a tragedy when a car crashed into their 8-year-old daughter near the Bay of Lalzi.

The cause of the accident is suspected of being an 18-year-old man who was driving an Audi and had only been granted his license for a few days.

Footage shared on social media shows the moment the mother sees her child lying in the street, putting her hands on her head and screaming.

Police confirmed the death of the 8-year-old in hospital:

At about 20:00, in the Maminas-Lala Bay road segment, a vehicle with the driver of the citizen G. Gj., 18, crashed into a minor citizen S.S., 8 years old, from Slovakia. As a result of the crash, the 8-year-old lost her life in hospital.

The driver was accompanied to the Police Station for further procedurac actions.

The investigative group is at the scene and under the direction of the Prosecution is working to clarify the circumstances and cause of the accident.
