TIMAK DEFENCE, MKD and GUNA TACTICAL are three new companies opened in the first three days of August 2025, which have as their parent company, the state-owned company KAYO sh.a, which operates in the defense and security industry.

The company was founded in 2024 and is led by Ardi Veliu, while it has inherited the production capacities of the Medical Explosives Plant, the Gramsh Mechanical Plant, and the Poliçan Mechanical Plant.

However, the Albanian state seems to have taken the project to produce weapons and ammunition in Albania seriously, as in the first days of August, three new companies were created, which have "KAYO" as their parent and will operate in the field of defense.

According to data from the "Open Corporates Albania" database, these are the companies TIMAK DEFENCE, MKD and GUNA TACTICAL, which are owned respectively by:

1. TIMAK DEFENCE - Owned 80% by Arjeta Puca and 20% by KAYO

The Company's business activity is the production or adaptation of special motor vehicles with an open architecture that allows the installation of weapon systems, such as automatic weapons, artillery systems, anti-drone equipment, active vehicle protection, equipment for urban use and any other system required by the armed forces or other security structures, for use by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, security and civil emergency structures and other domestic or international clients.

2. MKD - Owned 80% by Emiljano Dusha's company MSSC and 20% KAYO

The object of the Company's activity is the production and trade of small and medium caliber ammunition, in accordance with Albanian legislation and the objectives provided for in the normative acts for the establishment of the Company. This includes the production and trade of ammunition for the Armed Forces and other security structures.

3. GUNA TACTICAL - Owned 49% by Emiljano Dusha's company MSSC and 51% by KAYO

Design, production, processing, storage, packaging, promotion, distribution, marketing and export of military uniforms and accessories for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, as well as for other security structures and other local or international clients.

The state-owned company "Kayo" has a board of 7 members, administrator Ardi Veliu and members: Ida Malile, Gjergji Methoxha, Ermal Nufi, Aleks Marku, Ervin Feti and Grestian Poçi. The capital of this company is initially 150 million lek.
