The officers of the Economic Crime police went during the evening to the headquarters of the Democratic Party, to communicate to Sali Berisha the security measure, the obligation to appear and to take his passport.

He is accused by SPAK of passive corruption, in relation to the privatization of the former Partizani complex.

Berisha's son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, and businessman Fatmir Bektashi were put in handcuffs for the same issue.

In an extraordinary press conference, Berisha called the accusations raised by SPAK against him and his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, groundless and political. The former prime minister rejected all accusations and emphasized that Jamarbër Malltezi's only fault is the fact that he is his daughter's husband.

Sali Berisha directly accused Edi Rama, who according to him established the dictatorship with these accusations.

Asked if he is afraid of imprisonment, Berisha said: "I am not afraid of anything, I believe that I have proven this fact." I would be afraid if I saw that the cause was damaged, on the contrary, this helps our cause".

Jamarbër Malltezi was arrested this Saturday afternoon at Rinas airport by order of SPAK. The son-in-law of Sali Berisha is accused of money laundering and passive corruption in connection with the privatization of the former Partizani complex. The businessman Fatmir Bektashi was also arrested for the same issue.
