In the first 9 months of 2022, 27 officers have been arrested by their colleagues in the Police Oversight Agency after being found in violation, with an average of 3 officers arrested each month this year.

But in this period, the agency has referred about 260 police officers to the prosecutor's office. Compared to a year ago, there is an increase in the number of policemen cooperating with crime.

For the cases in question, the court has deemed it reasonable that 32 employees should be left in prison, 21 others should be punished with a more lenient measure than house arrest, while 36 others have only received immediate suspension from duty.

According to the referrals, these employees are mostly involved in arbitrary actions, bringing in contact with the citizen or even corruption.

But recent cases have shown that these employees, even though wearing the state uniform, were involved in drug trafficking, but also arms and ammunition trading.

Also more flagrant was the case of Jeton Lam, who, in the role of an operational officer, helped a wanted person by driving him by car or by giving him information.

From the beginning of January to the end of September, AMP counted 1246 complaints from citizens, reports OraNews. There are more complaints about the traffic police, order and other police forces.
