A serious incident happened this morning in the village of Pocest, administrative unit of Maqellarë, where a 26-year-old man injured his mother with a knife during a conflict for weak motives.

According to official information from the Dibra Police, after receiving a notification of a family conflict, the police services immediately left for the scene. From the first investigative actions, it turned out that the citizen IS, 26 years old, hit his mother, citizen NS, 50 years old, with a cutting tool (knife).

The injured woman was immediately transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where she is under the care of doctors.

The suspected perpetrator was arrested in flagrante delicto by the Police, while the crime weapon, a knife, was seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Dibra Prosecutor's Office for further investigative actions.
